CHALLENGE
EBM Papst has various ERP systems for its sales organization, and the integration process was quite complex, as it involved connecting multiple B1 systems and ECC.
SOLUTION
Integrating with ECC wasn’t as challenging as with B1, as Overcast had the capabilities and out-of-the-box features to achieve this with a less complex system. However, integration with multiple B1 systems was very complex. With the help of experts from the Vigience side, they were able to develop an orchestration where Overcast served as the middleware and staging environment for data flow between the two systems. This orchestration included scenarios to distinguish between different sales organizations (B1 systems) and control the data flow to the correct system. There was also a real-time integration scenario, achievable using the Overcast middleware, where data replication wasn’t required. Instead, data was simply populated on a widget in SFDC from SAP ECC and B1.
